I am so proud to finally share with you the key visuals for this year's Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival! We recently had a launch party at Hula's Waikiki (thanks, Diane!) so now I can officially share them with you. (Click to view larger)
This year, the unifiying element was rainbow shave ice. I thought it was perfect because it not only represented Hawaii, but also the gay & lesbian community. So I took that theme and ran with it, creating different scenarios using it – and even dressing up the fabulous Coco Chandelier as a giant rainbow shave ice cone! Haha! Other than that, I stayed true to my retro styling, delivering vibrant Kodachrome hues in a sexy and campy way.
A big thanks to Daniel Chun and Lisa Yamamoto from the HGLCF board for helping to coordinate. Thank you HGLCF board for standing behind my crazy ideas. Thank you Sarah la Glam for the amazing hair and makeup job. Big thanks also to our beautiful models Kalani, Carlos, Kaleo, Dean, Ashley, Coco, Britt and Gigi!
The film festival is May 12 - 15 at the Doris Duke Theatre. I sincerely hope you can all make it ~ see you there!
